About me

Kia ora, welcome to my website.  I am a painter, illustrator, mural artist and art educator living in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

All things Aotearoa inspire my artwork.  I love painting detailed artworks that feature Aotearoa's natural world.  My painting process includes gouache, watercolours and acrylic paint.  I enjoy building textures, depth and detail in my work.  It is a sweet moment when the painting arrives.

I am a well seasoned children's picture book illustrator with over 15 books I have illustrated. I have over 20 years of experience teaching visual arts in schools and other settings. I have enjoyed artist in residence programmes, Creatives in Schools programmes and exhibiting my work.  Mural work is also becoming an important and enjoyable part of my art practise.
